The Apache Newsletter, a top-level “what’s going on” style newsletter, edited by Tetsuya Kitahata, is extremely informative. Here’s a quick rundown:
- The newsletter pointed out more information about Apache Geronimo, the J2EE stack in the infubator.
- Apache Ant now has a <csc> task for compiling C#.
- The incubator status report was very informative.
- Similarly, it was nice to know what’s going on at Jakarta Commons.
- Lots of improvements and news on Gump. I’ve been meaning to deploy Gump locally for awhile now, I just haven’t found the time/energy to do so.
- There is some Axis news: details on the 1.1 release as well as a status report on Axis C++.
This newsletter is an excellent idea. I don’t think I’ve seen so much information about the various Apache projects in one place before. Hopefully the next newsletter will be even more informative!
Quick request: an RSS feed, please. I don’t need the complete text, I’d just like to know when the sucker updates. Thanks to Ted Leung for the link.
